Tree Down on NW 153rd
A wind storm blew through Oak Hills on January 8, bringing down a large fir tree along NW 153rd near the entrance. 153rd was entirely blocked although drivers could "detour" by using Albion or Arcadia Courts. The tree fell sometime in the early morning and County crews were busy cutting up and removing the tree by 9 am. The street was cleared by noon.

A SURPRISE PARTY FOR LARRY
There was a crush of people at the surprise party for our beloved mail carrier, Larry on Saturday, January 30 at Oak Hills Church. Some estimates put the number of well-wishers at close to 500. Larry is retiring from his mail route and the neighborhood turned out to let him know how much his smile will be missed but to wish him well on the next phase of his life. The surprise was complete; his wife had told them they were stopping by for a friend's birthday party, so he didn't suspect it was all for him until he was deep into the room and the crowd started to applaud and then sing "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow"!
Good luck Larry! We will miss you!
